Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith now on DVD!

When "Revenge of the Sith" hit theaters last May, the most successful film franchise in history concluded with a big, box-office bang.

The final installment in the "Star Wars" saga became the top-grossing movie of 2005 and now stands as the seventh highest money-maker of all time, having amassed more than $380 million in domestic ticket sales. With the holidays looming, the "Revenge of the Sith" DVD is destined to make even more millions, no assistance from The Force needed.

Fortunately for "Star Wars" fans, this two-disc set will make a respectable addition to the library of Skywalker-related releases already occupying space on their entertainment center shelves. Like its DVD predecessors, the film looks sharp, sounds superb and comes with an arsenal of extras, including six deleted scenes, several documentaries and a commentary track. All of it is bound to keep Yoda desciples occupied for hours on end.

Yes, Star Wars Episode III is finally out on DVD!!! The only problem is that the sale price is $29.98. Is it worth thirty of your hard earned dollars to by a Star Wars DVD? Oh yeah! Especially this Star Wars DVD. I saw Episode III in theatres and it was absolutely awesome, the visual effects were stunning and the acting , believe it or not, was pretty good. Star Wars is rated PG-13 this time though because of violence so it isn't for the squeemish. :) It's the final Star Wars movie ever, so go see it. ( as long as you have seen the other ones too, because otherwise you will be totally lost)

  • Wow! That is kind of expensive, isn't it? Star Wars 3 was pretty good, but I have to say that the original series was definitely the better compared to the newer Star Wars series.

  • Personally, I liked the newer ones better...of course, I detest Anakin...but who wouldn't? Unless you're Sith, that is. :

  • I couldn't STAND Anakin! He was a little better in episode 3, but still, he was so annoying! Natalie Portman's acting needed some work too, she was very stiff. I guess the best actor in episode 3 was Ewan McGregor's character, Obi-Wan-at least he knows how to act. :)

  • Well the older ones were cheesy. :) The acting was horrific and the visual effects were all but stunning. ( Not to mention the pathetic light saber fights) Luke annoyed me a lot in the older movies, he had no personality ( at least in the newer movies the main character, Annakin, was evil which gave him personality).

I'm going to buy it as soon as I get the time to go get it. Obi-Wan was excellent in Episode III, in fact all the acting was improved. The visual effects rock! The plot is great and this movie is very unique, you very rarely see a movie were the bad guys win! ( At least they do in Episode III, not in the entire series)

  • Well, hey- in the 1970s Hollywood didn't have all the special effects that it has today. The acting was NOT that bad! I think Harrison Ford did a good job; although Luke's acting wasn't the best in Star Wars episode 4.

  • Oh yeah, the acting was terrible! Harrison Ford was the only good actor in the old trilogy. Luke stunk, Princess Leah was terrible, and Obi-Wan was really bad. I know they didn't have such modern special effects back in the 70s, that is why the newer Star Wars were better BECAUSE these movies did have awesome visual effects. :)

  • BUT, if it wasn't for Ewan McGregor, the newer series would be terrible as far as acting goes(the main actors that is)! Leiah was a much better character than Padme; Natalie Portman totally stunk; she was so stiff! I didn't like the very first Star Wars (the newer one)- it was boring and didn't make sense. The second one was better; although the acting and cheesy lines really bugged me. The third one is definitely the best out of all the newer ones, but it was so sad! Personally, I like the older ones the best because I grew up with them; and I especially love Return of the Jedi!

  • No! Mace Windu was played very well, Obi-Wan was done well, Obi Wan's trainer in the first movie was good, even Annakin did a good acting job in the third movie, the evil Sith?Senator Palpatine (sp?) was awesome and all the Jedis were cooler ( both in battle and in looks). Yes, Natelie Portman stunk but Leah stunk just as bad; Luke was way worse then Annakin is. The Phantom Menace, wasn't great. The second film was pretty good, and the third (of the newer films) was the best in the entire series. In the older movies, the acting was worse, the visual effects were worse, the aliens were stupid ( they didn't even look life-like), the characters ( besides Han Solo) were boring, and most of all the light saber fights were laughable. What's a Star Wars movie without a good light-saber battle??? The newer films have faults ( acting and cheesy lines) but are still better then the older films. :)

  • Well, yes, the other actors you named were pretty good. But as for the rest of your points (and Anakin still stunk btw; my mom saw his acting for the first time in episode 3 and couldn't stand him!), I better not argue with them because it will lead into another pointless argument of opinions. *Sigh*.

  • Everyone's entitled to their own opinions, I guess... :)

  • I meant argue with "you" not "them". :D
